Make money doing the work you believe in

My husband is a chef. He tried online work for a stretch and missed the kitchen too much — that's where his energy lives, in one place, with the heat and the line and the rhythm of service.

So now he's my stable home base.

I travel about nine months of the year. He doesn't.

We didn't land here through compromise. We had to get brave and tell one another the truth about what we needed. Then learned that needing different things doesn’t necessarily mean hard choices, as long as those things are still compatible in some shape.

For us, they are. It’s not for everyone, but don’t assume there’s only one way to do this.
