If there's one critical thing I think people must understand at this moment in history, it's that the real stakes aren't even between democracy and fascism. In this scientific and technological age we're barreling through, our essential challenge is far more fundamental: We are in a battle to remain human against those rushing to give up their humanity, knowingly or not.
