Make money doing the work you believe in

Welcome to Tuesday. Who’s left in the portal that can make an impact for the Purdue women’s basketball team? Do the Boilermakers have a true point guard or main ballhandler yet? Can this roster bring the program out of the Big Ten’s basement? Lots of questions.

BASEBALL

Purdue canceled Tuesday’s matchup against Ball State due to the threat of heavy rain. The game won’t be made up and now the Boilermakers turn their attention toward Friday’s series opener against Indiana.

According to Baseball America’s latest NCAA projections, Purdue falls under the next four out category. The Boilermakers’ RPI is 52nd and a strength of schedule is No. 104. Purdue might have to sweep the Hoosiers and Iowa to join the conversation. Greg Goff’s team is tied for fifth with Michigan heading into the weekend.

IHSAA UPDATE

No shot clock for Indiana. The IHSAA’s Board of Director voted overwhelming (17-1) to continue to play its varsity games without a shot clock. Coaches supported the move to a 35-second shot clock. Administrators did not. The cost (roughly $10,000) to install shot clocks and finding personnel to run the operation appear to be the sticking points. Some schools have already installed shot clocks.

This seemed like an easy decision to modernize the game but the next opportunity won’t be until 2028. Indiana was one of 18 states which didn’t use a shot clock during the 2025-26 season.

However, the IHSAA will allow athletes to participate in Personal Branding Activities (high school version of NIL) by a 13-5 vote. Athletes can monetize their name, image and likeness but can’t be affiliated with the school, appear in uniform or use the facilities.
