“Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” - 1 Thess‬ ‭5‬:‭16‬-‭18‬

Many people post this verse on Thanksgiving but do you really understand what it is saying?

It means that no matter what happens in your life, what you are dealing with or going through, that we should always give thanks to the Lord for all things as it is all the Lord’s will and He is working it for good.

Up until a few years ago I didn’t get it and certainly wouldn’t have given thanks when things in my life weren’t going the way I wanted but now I give thanks in all things regardless of whether it’s what I desire because I know that the Lord doesn’t always give us what we want but what we need.
