Whenever I meet a coach or counselor who's afraid to raise their rates, I tell them about the time my toilet clogged... and I couldn't fix it no matter how hard I tried.
We had a clogged toilet, so obviously, I tried the plunger.
That didn't work, so I tried the chemicals.
That didn't work, so I tried the roto-rooter wire. You know, the "snake thing".
Nothing worked, so I called a plumber. He fixed it in minutes for $170, and life was great again.
Here's the thing: if I could have solved the toilet problem myself, I would have, but I couldn't.
That's exactly how it works with the people you help.
They've already tried their version of the plunger.
They've tried the self-help books, the podcasts, the quick fixes. If they could have solved it without you, they would have. But their stuck with the life equivalent of a clogged toilet.
They're coming to you because they're still struggling after their best attempts.
So please stop devaluing the fact that you're the professional they need right now. You have the tools. You have the training. You understand things they simply can't see on their own.
It doesn't matter how much time or effort it takes you.
It matters that you solve a highly valuable problem.
You are worth investing in.
