Recently I got asked what my favorite story I’ve written is. That’s a mean question. Like “pick your favorite organ.” It’s a Hammond B3 btw 😏
But “Dearly Beloved” is definitely up there. Mostly because my wife helped shape the concept. The best part was the conversations we had about the characters. Wonderful, productive, and only slightly demented.
Which, honestly, is how you want your brainstorming sessions. If nobody says “Wait. Are we okay?” at least once, did you even write horror?
