With ADHD it’s an obstacle course to get out of the house

  • Time blindness

  • Memory to pack what’s needed for outing, daycare or school

  • Remembering and preparing snacks

  • Feeding and walking pets, prepare grumpy children

  • Remembering your own breakfast and medicines

  • Returning for the items you forget

  • Charging your flat phone on the way

  • Filling your empty car tank on the way

  • Caffeinating on the way

  • Fighting morning fatigue to do the above

  • Guilt for running late

  • Child falls asleep on the way - repivot the day

It’s complete cognitive and emotional overload.

Not to mention to post outing social battery recharge.

It’s a monster effort and with children often a necessity we can’t avoid. I was someone who barely drank water and inadvertently fasted because I forgot to eat before kids.

This is a LOT

It will never be easy, let’s keep it real. Mornings suck. Here are some ways I’ve reduced the pressure.

It’s about removing jobs not adding them.
