The Zen Response to Uncertainty

Zen does not try to eliminate uncertainty.

It does something more radical.

It allows it.

Instead of filling the gap, it stays with the gap.

The Buddha pointed to this directly:

Clinging creates suffering.

And certainty is one of the subtlest forms of clinging.

To not know— and not immediately escape that state—

is a form of freedom most people never practice.
