The app for independent voices

after a few days of feeling quite noticeably off, i just came to a moment of feeling complete peace within myself.

how did i arrive there?

by slowing down, spending almost an entire day without any “aim” or “goal” i was oriented towards, instead simply holding the intention to be with myself, and to do what i feel like doing.

this didn’t result in some gluttinous day of indulgence—quite the contrary: i went on a long walk without my phone, got some new stationery, read in the park sitting on a blanket in the sunshine, cleaned my entire home, made a cup of tea, sat in silence for ten minutes and stared at the beautiful flowers i got yesterday, and just opened up my computer to write this.

sometimes doing what will make you feel better doesn’t need to be over-complicated, coercive, or pathologized. sometimes, you just need to slow down to a pace where you can actually hear your intuition, listen to what it is nudging you towards and quietly, patiently obey its calls. often, it is the simple, unglamorous but deeply satiating days like this one that leave me feeling closest to myself.

if you haven’t had one in a while, i highly recommend making the space for one soon. hope you are having a beautiful, grounded sunday, friends.
