Former U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said: “We need to make sure the story is written properly, so that when the history books write this, they won’t write about the victims of Gaza.”
The audience applauded.
He went on to say that while there are civilian casualties in Gaza—just like in any other war—the "true" victims are the Israelis. In his view, "writing the story properly" means ensuring that the thousands of children, the families in tents, and the generations wiped out in Gaza are silenced entirely.
That moment says more than any policy paper ever could.
