Outside of the majors, Rome was the tennis tournament that blew me away the most when I visited in 2022.

I literally walked around open-mouthed for much of the first day, and I always get FOMO when watching on the telly (like I currently am).

I know it’s an obvious choice, but it really is so stunning and lives up to all the hype (even if the media facilities were slightly lacking the year I went…).

The other plus: it is v central, so you’re only ever a short bus ride/walk from the best pasta (post-match food is key to my enjoyment of any sports event).
