I hit the two-thirds mark of my book and had a stroke of inspiration for the last third. It required me to make a pretty major change to a detail that had sparked nearly the entire plot. Yet I got tears in my eyes at how perfectly this resolved the story.

Just goes to show that you have to trust your characters and be willing to make the changes they demand.
