All of the above are well argued and true, but for me it was all about trust. And I didn’t. So I was on red alert almost immediately in the second half of March 2020. Once I was on the “hang on a minute this doesn’t make any sense” path, it was much easier to see the narrative unfolding. I distinctly remember a few stories being circulated early in March about people in China catching this virus and then bleeding to death horribly within hours of being infected, reading one of them and thinking ‘what utter bollocks.’ The Daisy Princess analysis by Prof. Ioannides provided the first statistically valid “control” test and on reading the paper I found it irrefutable. The reactions to it just confirmed my mistrust and the rest is history. Added to which is Pfizer’s appalling reputation for violating basic ethical standards so for me it was a done deal by early April. Good essay though.
