Your Personal Power Is Too Valuable To Hand Over to the Outrage Machine
I’ve noticed something the past few days.
I haven’t watched the news.
I skim the headlines for about thirty seconds so I know what’s happening.
Then I delete the email and move on with my day.
Not because I don’t care.
Because I’m clear about where my power actually lives.
I can stay informed enough to call or write an elected official.
That’s real participation.
But willingly submitting my mind and nervous system to a constant feed of outrage and chaos does nothing useful.
It doesn’t change policy.
It doesn’t solve problems.
It just drains the very energy I need to live my life well.
My power is here.
In what I build.
In how I spend my attention.
In how deeply I stay connected to my own soul.
Everything else is noise trying to rent space in my head.
And I’m getting very intentional about what I allow to live there.
