Woohoo! I made a granny square beanie! This is a massive celebration for me, considering I thought I’d never get the hang of working with yarn 🧶 🥂
What I especially love are the special elements:
🧶 the hand-spun and hand-dyed pink wool from my stepmother
🧶 the heart I found at the gym with an encouraging note from an anonymous crochet lover
🧶 the free purple yarn I found in a leftovers box at a yarn store in Canberra
Now the weather just has to cool down so I can wear it.
I haven’t felt like writing for a while - I’ve been interstate for a couple of weeks. Tomorrow I return to work and I find myself longing for the “more slow, less busy” days to continue. More time to create as I feel led, no expectations, just me and whatever I’m working on.
Like this pumpkin pincushion which was not on my agenda but seemed like a good thing to do when my old pincushion fell apart.
Writing will come but I’m not forcing it. Instead, I’m embracing this transitional season. And outside, the leaves are changing colour. 🍂
