This is neat: PTOLEMY is a proposal to look at the Cosmic Neutrino Background. The CNB dates from neutrino decoupling (when the universe became transparent to neutrinos), maybe 1 second after the Big Bang, much much earlier than the Cosmic Microwave Background, which dates to about ~380,000 years after the Big Bang (when the universe became transparent to photons)
