Three Pines Coffee in Salt Lake City has eliminated tipping, and raised wages from $8/hr to $18/hr.
The owner realized that tips were good in the summer, but inconsistent in the winter.
To pay for the higher wages he raised the price of a cup of coffee about $1.
"The no-tipping policy has been in effect for about 30 days, and according to Price, the transition has been successful," local station KUTV reported.
