Before you start complaining about losing an hour tonight, I should probably let you in on the scientific reason for it.

You see, every year at this time earth encounters a black hole, coming just close enough for it to bite off an hour. There follows a terrific struggle between the earth and the black hole which goes on for six months, the black hole finally spitting up that hour and letting us drift free.

Of course, if we ever lose this struggle, we'll have to limp along on 23 hours, and probably be so weakened that we'll lose another hour every time we face the black hole, till we won't even have time for a midnight snack, or to binge 30-second Super Bowl ads.

So now that I've given you something to worry about, sleep tight!
