Kent, Wash. — BLM activist Kelly M. Lee-Carroll, 58, was sentenced to only 17 months in prison after being convicted of defrauding the Department of Veterans Affairs of more than $1 million.

Lee-Carroll, who sold “luxury” BLM-themed covid masks and shirts, falsely claimed she was bedbound with paralysis and needed constant assistance with all activities of daily living. Surveillance footage and social media posts revealed a different story. She was seen walking around on her own while shopping.

She spent the money intended for disabled veterans on lavish vacations to Mexico and Jamaica, gambling in casinos, buying cars, and even a second home. She has been ordered to pay $932,142 in restitution.
