Yarvin is on his shit again. This is a very lengthy post about how the Trump movement failed to be the total revolution he dreamed of, and now “we” have to regroup, become a “hard party” and be properly ruthless, seize power and use it to rule in a properly dictatorial mode. This is supposed to happen through some magic political app that will coordinate the action of this “we”.

Unfortunately if your movement is not unified and ruthless, an app is not going to fix that for you.

What’s really remarkable is that Yarvin has ascended to a level where he has access to genuine political power – Vance gets inspiration him, Thiel funds him, Liz Truss cites him. His faction has control of the government and is being as programmatically destructive as it can. Yet none of this makes his vision any closer to reality, which is one thing we can at least be thankful for.

“Political engineering”, like any other form of engineering, must be judged by what it is actually able to build. Trump and his crew are grifters who have zero interest in or ability to build an alternative order; the worst they can do is destroy the old one. That’s pretty bad but at least it spares us from living in the world of Moldbug’s appalling imagination.
