JP Morgan announced today that “In 2026, we have also rolled out what we believe is best-in-class retail trade execution — basically giving consumers access to the same execution capability that the largest, most sophisticated investors in the world enjoy, which saves them money. We believe this is better than the execution provided when a broker is paid for order flow.”

This represents quite a change to the broker/market-maker business model.
