Older AMI teachers are always horrified that their venerable Nienhuis was sold a long time ago. No one had any idea. It was inevitable as old European workshops were replaced by newer Asian manufacturers, so I’m glad the family was able to cash out when needed. I ran into Bert Nienhuis right after the sale of his family’s company, so I got to hear all about the competition in this space from him. Anyhow, he said the Nienhuis production was mostly moved out of Europe before the sale.
