The college football landscape has changed in the NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) era. Pay for play has made it possible for perennial losers to compete with the blue chip programs. It’s going from anonymity to prominence, kind of like a weather event going from rare to much more noticeable. If we ignore the changes (especially if they are long term), and choose to do nothing, that could lead to a detrimental outcome. Just like a football coach that is set in his ways, we may be looking at a losing season.
