Here’s some sweet news. A baby Asian elephant was born a month ago at the Smithsonian’s National Zoo. Her name, Lin Mai, means “spirit blossom” in Vietnamese. Her birth will help ensure the survival of her species. (And she has birthright status!) Welcome Lin Mai!
