Am reading Carver’s third collection, Cathedral. Although this book was edited by Lish, Carver shook off most of his influence and didn't allow him to cut the stories as deeply. I think they're still pretty good! They don't have that haunting, mysterious quality that the stories in the previous collection had, but I think they have much more heart.
