Woman of Letters meetup at AWP went great (am just realizing I should’ve taken a picture). Most participants were just locals, not convention-goers, which makes me realize I probably should’ve done it in the evening and not at 11 AM.

Most participants were also readers, not writers at all (I always forget that readers exist!)

Being at AWP has made me realize that I want to someday do a convention for lovers of classic literature. If you love Robert Heinlein there are a hundred conventions you can attend, but where can you go if you love John Cheever? It’s a major gap!

I am manifesting this right now. Will start with regular meetups in SF, and then will aim to hold a one-day convention sometime in spring of 2027.
