I agree that people don’t describe him well. I feel like not many critics have engaged with the Hitler stuff! I keep wanting someone to write about the Hitler thing. Like, my feeling is, basically…there is a part of Knausgaard acknowledges Hitler as a monster but also admires Hitler for being self-made.

The Hitler writing was a pretty astonishing thing to come across in the sixth book (and raised my respect for the book) but people seem a little afraid to ask okay, so…what’s the deal with the Hitler thing.
