I have struggled to understand Plato’s Cave. One of my favorite poems is about a bat flying around a cave, and the slightest turn might just expand the cave. The guest describes Plato’s Cave as one where we do not fully connect with what’s real. The actors can be acting in good faith but until we realize or acknowledge things personally, we are not fully living. This acknowledgement makes us more vulnerable, not something to conquer or act as if it is conquerable, but to see it, feel it, face it.
