The first journal I think I ever had, I was in 3rd grade, and it was one of those “composition books” with the black and white splotchy covers.

I’ve always loved writing in a journal. And now, I’m gonna start posting some of that writing. I’m gonna call it Joe’s Journal, at least for now…

You shouldn’t finish every book you start.

Abandoning a book is not an admission of failure—it’s a sign of wisdom. You’ve decided to let go of sunk costs.

The purpose of reading is to be entertained and informed. If a book doesn't bring joy or insight, it’s time to move on.

Zelenskyy’s great address in response to Putin’s statement regarding the ceasefire proposal.

“Right now, we have all heard from Russia Putin’s highly predictable and manipulative words in response to the idea of a ceasefire on the front lines—at this moment he is, in fact, preparing to reject it.

Of course, Putin is afraid to tell Presiden…

He will absolutely be incapable of complying with the gag order. And I’m terrified he could win in 2024. I’ve never felt more hopeless about our government and I’ve seen a lot of government malfeasance in my lifetime.

It’s 45 who should be feared, not the Biden Administration who has a lot to be proud of. So I ask you: why do you feel our government is hopeless. It would seem you have fallen into 45’s abyss.

Or TutoneSF is it America that is in the Abyss, the Abyss that has not saved us from Trump after all this. He's still sneering and you and me.

The First Amendment protects speech. That speech includes lies; lots of lies, damned lies, constant lies, lies perpetrated through commercial media outlets, shouted through megaphones at rallies and on social media. Sectors of our society and geographic regions are poorly educated, chronically suspicious of government and hold historic grudges dating back 160+ years. They are susceptible to lies, damned lies and twisted statistics. When speech turns to action, it no longer has the protection of the first amendment, but there is constitutional protection in the franchise to elect liars. We are only protected by two possibilities; 1) that there are more voters who adhere to truth instead of lies, and 2) That they care enough to show up the polls and reject the liars. Until that day, we can broadcast a different message, but we can't fully drown out the lies.
