Minneapolis is at a crossroads. Real progress isn’t just about new policies—it’s about the mindset to follow through. This week’s Better Minneapolis newsletter challenges our elected leaders to focus on results over rhetoric. It’s time to prioritize action over ideology.

Heading home from a Strong Towns event at Princeton for the Bike Walk Summit. Great group. Tough talk. Lots of fear in the room about the future of transportation funding. Will share audio later on the Strong Towns Podcast.
A serious and difficult conversation afterwards with some thoughtful advocates. Their assertion: federal transit sub…
The CPC and Pierre Poilievre are compromised, full stop. India, which is hostile to Canada, ran operations to help get him into the party leadership.
Yeah, this is fine.
Remember, the Modi government of hostile state India is aligned with the right-wing IDU and CPC godfather Stephen Harper. Now Robert Fife and Stephen Chase of The Globe & Mail (paywalled, but archive.io takes care of that) are reporting,
“CSIS alleges India organized support for Poilievre’s 2022 Conservative leadership bid”
Quite a timeline.
summer / fall 2021: after months of CPC MPs disrupting Parliament, then-PM Trudeau dissolves Parliament for a snap election. The Liberals formed government with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
winter 2022: the Ottawa Occupation and border blockades in Coutts, Alta., and Windsor, Ont., take place, and the media nurtures the Big Like that it’s some grassroots movement about COVID-19 vaccines, which provincial jurisdiction. But why is IDU higher-up Mike Roman, who was also indicted in the 2020 Georgia election interference scheme, there? Why do these activists have “Pierre for PM” signs when the Hon. Erin O’Toole is the CPC leader? O’Toole is forced out by his own party.
summer 2022: per today’s G&M article, “the Canadian Security Intelligence Service learn(s) that Indian agents were involved in raising money and organizing within the South Asian community for Mr. Poilievre during the leadership race.” He wins, after Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown is thrown out for flimsy reasons.
summer 2023: Canadian Sikh activist Hardeep Singh Nijjar is murdered in British Columbia. Prime Minister Trudeau links India to the killing. The CPC howls about it. In the House of Commons, Pierre Poilievre mispronounces Nijjar’s name like the worst anti-Black racial slur (really).
October 2024: scanning from the G&M again, “On Thanksgiving last fall, RCMP Commissioner Mike Duheme linked Indian government officials to homicides, extortions and coercion committed on Canadian soil. That day, Ottawa expelled six Indian diplomats including High Commissioner Sanjay Kumar Verma. India staunchly denied the allegations and expelled six Canadian diplomats, sending bilateral relations into an even deeper freeze.”
None of this made it into the foreign interference report, oddly enough. And if the CPC didn’t know this, then how incompetent and inept are they?
