Forget “of the NIL era”… UConn would be only the third men’s team EVER to win 3 national titles in 4 years, and the first since 1975:

John Wooden-era UCLA:

  • 1964, 1965, 1967: Won three titles in four years (only missing 1966, when Texas Western/UTEP won with the first all-black starting 5 in NCAA history)

  • 1967-1973: Won seven consecutive titles (!)

  • 1972, 1973, 1975: Another span of three titles in four years (missing 1974, when David Thompson and NC State won)

  • (In total, UCLA won 10 championships in 12 seasons from 1964-1975.)

Adolph Rupp-era Kentucky:

  • 1948, 1949, 1951: Won three titles in four years (only missing 1950, when CCNY won)
