My NASCAR column this week is all about Ty Gibbs — the former hotshot prospect who has taken longer to win (130 starts and counting) than perhaps we expected.

That might be a bad sign (only 1 driver has ever won more than 10 races after taking so long to get the 1st), except that Gibbs has matured into a much more consistent threat to win recently… and he might get that first victory this weekend at Bristol.
