Substack’s distribution is driven by machine learning.

It does not push everything at once.

For example,

If one note is released, it might be shown to 1,000 people.

If you publish five notes back-to-back, that attention gets split.

Roughly 200 people per note.

Each post gets less signal. Each one has a lower chance of traveling.

This is why spacing matters.

Give a note 2 to 3 hours.

Let it breathe. Let the system see how readers respond.

One strong note has a chance to go far. Five at once usually go nowhere.

Patience is part of distribution.
