Jokes aside, Tobin is presenting a novel claim, or at least I haven’t heard before - that shifts in atmospheric pressure can concentrate air pollutants in urban/industrial areas, leading to the overwhelming of the mucociliary apparatus, which would normally be able to expel particulate debris inhaled by breathing.

I’d love to get people’s opinion on the plausibility of thermal inversions causing mass simultaneous illness with similar symptoms in certain geographic areas.
