Trump fired hurricane hunter flight crews at National Hurricane Center, just as preparation for the upcoming hurricane season begins. Along with the hurricane hunter crews, Trump fired hundreds of people included people who produce critical weather forecasts, maintain radar systems, and gather data from satellites. 

The National Hurricane Center located in Miami is the preeminent agency providing crucial data and forecasts to help coastal communities and states in hurricane preparedness. Their forecasts and hurricane track projections save hundreds of thousands of Americans every year.

The relevant question is why? And the most obvious answer is that the National Hurricane Center doesn’t use a Sharpie for hurricane tracking.
