The app for independent voices

Subscription music has gotten most people to forget a time when we actually owned our music, which could be stored locally on a hard drive and be played without a monthly fee. I think this is going to lead to a resurgence in physical media — CDs or cassettes — because the tech giants will make it impossible to store our music on a hard drive in the way iTunes allowed us to store our music on our computers and iPods. A return to physical ownership of music is a losing proposition for tech giants, but it would be a win for the end user.
