Deutsche Telekom adds Nvidia to 5G game offer

“The companies intend to use low-latency, low-loss, scalable throughput (L4S) technology on Deutsche Telekom’s 5G network to deliver stable gaming on smartphones.
It explained Nvidia’s GeForce NOW cloud platform is a core element, one which positions the operator as a frontrunner in Europe’s mobile gaming market.
Deutsche Telekom detailed the partnership on the eve of Gamescom 2025, a massive gaming event scheduled to run in the city of Cologne from 20 August to 24 August.
Wolfgang Metze, head of Consumer Business at Deutsche Telekom, said its existing 5G+ Gaming service provides “seamless gameplay” without downloads or lag.”
The neXt Curve Take
This is really interesting as it relates to MEC, edge computing broadly speaking, and AI-RAN. Gaming could be the beachhead applications for GPUaaS at the edge if NVIDIA is willing to be the global anchor customer for telcos to make that infrastructure play happen.
