My wife is a very clean and orderly person and, let’s just say, I am a work-in-progress. With the household chores, one of the tasks I’ve been granted is to sweep and mop the floors.
In my head, this task will easily take me an hour to do.
“I don’t have enough time.”
“I don’t have the energy.”
The excuses and predictions get loud and clever.
One day, I decided to time myself. How long does it actually take to sweep and mop our house?
The story my emotions told me was at least an hour. In actuality, it only took 17 minutes. The problem was never the sweeping and mopping, it was the story I told myself.
