Every writer should have a newsletter making $10k/month.
But most overthink, never make $1, and give up too soon.
So what's the secret to creating a successful paid newsletter?
Your positioning.
Or, in other words, the promise your newsletter makes to the reader.
How To Position A 6-Figure Newsletter (4 Criteria)
Your newsletter promise needs to be:
1. Tangible
Tangible is something you can touch or measure.
Intangible language: "Live the life of your dreams & retire early!"
You can't touch or measure this.
Tangible language: "Retire before age 45 with $1,000,000 in your bank account."
2. Have an objective outcome
Subjective outcome: "Become successful."
Ask 10 people their definition of success and you'll get 10 different answers.
Objective outcome: "Make $300k/year."
You either objectively achieve this or you don't.
3. Solve a problem
If your newsletter doesn't solve a reader's problem, then there's no reason for them to subscribe!
This positioning is 90% of the game.
The rest is simple:
1. Write about your newsletter on social
2. Drive traffic to your newsletter
3. Send free snippets to your list
4. Create a cliffhanger in the newsletter to create FOMO so people upgrade to paid
This is how I scaled my Write With AI newsletter to $300,000/year.
