I always considered myself a Black Butterfly 🦋, especially after hearing Deniece Williams’s song and reading Maya Angelou’s quotes. Through all the trails and tribulations that my community and culture is going through, we go through the cocoon of discovery, then rise with a Butterfly’s beauty…soaring through the sky. I love tattoos…one of my best ones is a Butterfly where the wings are my great-grandmom and grandmothers’names. Keeps me motivated and soaring daily!!!
