Citrini’s post is great at painting a vivid, impressionistic picture of an AI-driven economic crash — it combines our memories of 2008 with our fears of technological unemployment. But it ultimately doesn’t tell us much about why that crash might happen, and thus it doesn’t tell us how we might reduce the likelihood of such a crash — or how we might deal with it if it happens. It’s really just a scary bedtime story.
