How to Recognize What Actually Matters
Make a list of all the things you're "supposed" to want:
A promotion.
A bigger house.
A more impressive title.
Now watch as life repeatedly smacks you in the face with the reality that none of these things will matter at 3 AM when you're staring at the ceiling, feeling completely lost and alone.
Here's the uncomfortable truth:
When you're lying awake questioning your entire existence, your money and fancy job title aren’t going to whisper back, "It's okay, I'm here."
Only real human connection does that.
So maybe—just maybe—we should stop chasing the shiny objects dangled in front of us and start collecting the stuff that actually fills the void:
genuine friendships,
unexpected kindness,
people who love you even when you're not “useful “to them,
who value you for your authentic self rather than your achievements.
I've seen people with nothing who had everything,
and people with everything who had nothing.
