“Mr. Gorbachev — terrible guy, by the way, not a nice guy, very bad energy — tear down this wall. Tear it down. Get rid of it. It’s a horrible wall. I love walls. Nobody loves walls more than me. I understand walls better than anybody, maybe in history. But this wall? Bad wall. Sad wall. Loser wall.

People come up to me, big strong men, tears in their eyes, and they say, ‘Sir, this wall is a disaster.’ And they’re right. It’s keeping the wrong people in, okay? Usually walls keep the wrong people out. This one is backwards. Totally backwards. Very unfair. Very nasty situation.

And look at this crowd. Massive crowd. Reagan never had a crowd like this. They won’t tell you that. The fake news won’t show it. Turn the cameras around. Go ahead. Look at these people. Beautiful people. Patriots. Germans for Trump — can you believe it? Amazing.

Freedom is winning, everybody knows it. The West is winning. Capitalism is winning. We have better cars, better music, better buildings, better everything. Better hair. Much better hair. Over there? Gray buildings, no energy, no fun, no Coca-Cola, no nothing. A total dump. Frankly, communism has very low ratings.

They said, ‘Sir, don’t be so tough on Gorbachev.’ I said no. You have to be strong. If you’re weak, they eat your lunch. I’ve seen it a million times. You’ve got to say it clearly. Very clearly. So I’m saying it clearly:

Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall. Not tomorrow. Not after a committee meeting. Not after a study. Tear it down now. Bring the cranes. Bring the bulldozers. Get the wall out of here.

And when it comes down — and it will come down, believe me — everybody will say Trump was right. Reagan was fine, okay, fine, but Trump really understood the wall thing. He understood it better than anybody.
