Make money doing the work you believe in
You’re carving turns over ground built by fire.
That’s one of the things I love about skiing My Ruapehu, New Zealand. The mountain reminds you where it came from. Volcanic rock still pushes through the snow in places, especially early in the season. Somewhere beneath your skis is a landscape shaped by eruptions over thousands of years.
Ruapehu needs a big snowpack. The volcanic terrain is rocky, uneven and full of features that only come alive once winter buries them. Every decent storm changes the mountain. Runs open, new lines appear, and places that looked untouchable a week earlier suddenly become part of the day.
That’s part of the rhythm of skiing here. You learn patience. You watch the forecasts. And when the snow finally arrives, it feels like the mountain is welcoming you back.
