WHAT???? i’m somehow #8 on the leaderboards for health politics on substack. while i’m so grateful to be connecting with people who value the conversations happening here (and hope my writing can be in service to our material struggle for collective liberation OFF substack), my praxis continues to be rooted in uplifting the long lineages of wisdom embodied and maintained by my black and brown comrades

it is not lost on me that i am the ONLY woman of color in the top 10, and one of the FEW woman of color in the top 100 (although “health politics” has been largely informed by the advocacy of black and brown femmes)… this tells you all you need to know about whose voices get heard and valued on substack and the overall landscape of this space. and this only affirms what i wrote in my last essay, “substack is fascist. what comes next?”
