I know film lists are about ~personal taste~ but I’m gonna side eye anyone’s list that purports to be the “best” of the century so far and of the fifty films, only three are by women (and it’s all cis white women). Is it a reflection of personal taste, or is it bias and ignorance?? A refusal to let go of your darlings? I don’t know. I just know cis and trans women from all over the globe have made killer films over the last twenty-five years and I’m tired of stumbling on lists that either aren’t aware of their films or don’t think they have merit.
