I learn something new whenever I read one of Hugh’s pieces. I’m glad Sinner did such a number on Zverev because it meant that, instead of discussing the game, Hugh talked about how one of the traits that makes the elite players elite is their ability to adapt to new data and new metas.

The analogies to AFL – to players repurposing themselves in different roles at different stages of their careers; to coaches; and to sides that are constantly challenged by opposition playing different systems – are clear and fruitful.
