Technical leadership is a muscle you build every time you step back from the IDE. Ask yourself these three questions today:

1. Am I writing for others? (Is my documentation or code clear enough for a junior to follow?)

2. Am I owning the failures? (Have I defined how this system breaks?)

3. Am I looking at the bigger picture? (Does this decision make the team better, or just the code prettier?)

The transition from IC to Lead happens in the mind before it happens in the job title.
