Lost & Found.
These are known locally as the Ghost Tunnels. They are actually High Angle Batteries with store rooms, and the remnants of anti-aircraft gun placements and the tramway which was used to transport ammunition.
It’s now a nature reserve and a Grade II listed monument. It’s a real shame to see it going to ruin, covered with graffiti, glass and litter everywhere, although there is finally a renovation plan over the next couple of years.
It was a typical miserable foggy day so I thought the weather would add a bit of atmosphere.
It feels a lost place at the moment, but I am excited to see it being found and restored back to its beauty.
