Are you interested in the confluence of politics and sport? I will be speaking about the history of football against fascism at a special event in London on Friday, 10 October.

The event is organised by the London branch of the Associazione Nazionale Partigiani d’Italia (ANPI - National Italian Partisans Association) and the Clapton Community Football Club fan group, Brigata Ultra Clapton.

I’ll be one half of a double-header with Bill Hern, an author who’ll be discussing football and racism. I will be covering:

Fittingly for an ANPI event, the venue is the heart of London’s ‘Little Italy’ (if you know your London history), in Clerkenwell Green. And right next to one of my favourite London pubs, The Crown.
